Caregivers Support Group

A Place of Care and Support for Caregivers

When so much of your life is spent caring for someone else, it is important to have a place where someone cares about you, too.

As part of the Mental Health Ministry at Summit United Methodist Church, we are offering a weekly Caregiver Support Group — a warm, welcoming place to connect with others who understand something of what it means to care for another person.

Caregiving takes many forms. You may be caring for a child or other family member with additional needs, supporting a spouse or loved one through illness or disability, helping an aging parent, or working as a professional caregiver. Your circumstances may be very different, but the emotional demands of caring for another person often have much in common. All caregivers are welcome.

Caregiving can bring enormous love and meaning. It can also bring exhaustion, worry, frustration, grief, guilt, difficult decisions, and the feeling that your own needs continually come last. Sometimes the person who is doing the caring needs somewhere they can simply put down the weight for a while.  This group offers a safe and supportive space to talk openly about both the joys and challenges of caregiving. Together, we will share experiences, learn practical ways to manage stress and protect our own wellbeing, explore helpful community resources, and support one another with understanding, warmth, and genuine care.

You don't have to have everything figured out. You don't have to be in crisis. And you don't have to carry everything alone.

Mondays, 7:00–8:15 PM
